Characterise the feed
Species or biomass description, cell size where known, solids concentration, organic matter and water chemistry.
Select by trial
Evaluate conditioning and composite filters on a representative sample. Fine cells and compressible cake can produce very different drainage from mineral sediment.
Plan the complete operation
Do not promise algal-cell removal, toxin removal or suitable discharge based on fabric opening alone.
Specify the result
Agree dry-solids processing duty, filtrate criteria, cake handling condition, sampling points and observation period. Establish acceptance criteria before procurement.

Frequently asked questions
Are FlowTex dewatering bags and tubes available from stock?
FlowTex holds stock for immediate supply. Ask for the available grade, dimensions and quantity; allocation is confirmed for the order. Custom dimensions or a different construction require a fabrication programme. Dispatch readiness and delivery time are confirmed separately.
Will an 85 µm liner retain every algal cell?
No. O90 is a fabric opening-size measurement, not an absolute cell-retention rating. Algal cells, colonies and compressible cake behave differently. Test the actual feed and any conditioning.
Does dewatering remove dissolved algal toxins?
Do not assume it does. A geotextile container primarily retains suspended solids. Assess dissolved contaminants and any further treatment using water analysis.
