Fabric and thread age differently. UV-resistant thread can improve seam durability, but it does not establish the weathering life, pressure rating or lifting capacity of the whole container.

Fabric weathering
Ask for retained tensile strength, exposure duration and the test method for the selected grade. Laboratory hours are not outdoor service-life years. Some fabric sheets require covering within one month; long outdoor exposure needs grade-specific review.
ePTFE sewing-thread option
Expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) is a proven outdoor sewing-thread material with published UV and weather resistance. Thread grade, size and colour affect strength. Confirm the selected thread and qualified seam construction in the project submission.
Strength units matter
Thread break force is reported in N or cN; fabric and wide-width seam strengths use kN/m. They cannot be substituted for each other. Double stitching alone is not proof of seam capacity.
Validate actual service conditions
Review sunlight exposure, abrasion, temperature, slurry chemistry and the selected fabric. Publish only the durability and seam results supported by the relevant product and assembly evidence.
Specify UV evidence precisely
Record the tested fabric, exposure method, duration and retained strength. Do not transfer a result between fabric grades or treat an accelerated laboratory exposure as an outdoor lifetime guarantee. Cover and storage requirements must follow the selected grade submission.

Frequently asked questions
Are FlowTex dewatering bags and tubes available from stock?
FlowTex holds stock for immediate supply. Ask for the available grade, dimensions and quantity; allocation is confirmed for the order. Custom dimensions or a different construction require a fabrication programme. Dispatch readiness and delivery time are confirmed separately.
Does UV-stabilised mean the bag can remain exposed indefinitely?
No. Confirm grade-specific weathering evidence and exposure/cover requirements. Accelerated laboratory hours do not convert directly to an outdoor service life.
Does ePTFE thread establish the lifetime of the whole bag?
No. It is a thread option with outdoor durability advantages. The outer fabric, liner, ports, abrasion and service conditions also affect the assembly.
